Offshore Spars' Waterjet Cutter
Offshore Spars Finland has a 1.5m x 2.5m water jet cutting machine. The machine directs a small diameter mixture of water and abrasive material called "garnet" at extremely high pressure. It is this combination of water and pressure that makes for close precision cutting of metals and composite materials. The drawings for the finished cut parts are entered into the machine's computer where the shapes are arranged automatically to minimize waste and cutting time.
