PROJECT HIGHLIGHT: DYKSTRA 110
The Dykstra 110 is due to be launched in 2010 and will feature a carbon fiber mast, Park Avenue boom, and rod rigging. The spar package will be Germanischer Lloyd certified. Specific to mast building, GL reviews all rig loads to assure acceptable margins of safety. In general, all designs must meet the same standards as those required for commercial shipbuilding. Offshore Spars has applied and been certified for several projects in the past.
