Baltic 52#15 “Jules”
Looking for truly custom and unique setup, the owner of the Baltic 52#15 came to Offshore for a solution. The boat was equipped with the original four spreader aluminum mast, although that spar underwent a major refit in Italy in 2007. At that time, the mast was converted from a masthead configuration to a fractional configuration and outfitted with a Romar Leisure Furl boom.
The current owner is very happy with the furling boom and enjoys the ease when sailing shorthanded with his family. However, when racing, preferred a setup that offered more performance. Offshore worked closely with the owner, his crew, and the Sparkman & Stephens office to optimize a new rig package that achieved both. A new carbon fiber mast was crucial, but the real magic was in the ability to easily switch between cruising mode with the furling boom and racing mode using a new carbon boom.
